Collectible Qur’ans
The Şekerzâde Mehmed Efendi Qur’an
Begun by Şekerzâde Mehmed Efendi at the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina during the reign of Sultan Ahmed III, this Qur’an was completed under Sultan Mahmud I.
It holds the distinction of being the first Qur’an officially printed in the Ottoman period, and the original is still preserved at the Süleymaniye Manuscript Library. This collector’s facsimile is the result of long labour and advanced printing technology, issued as a limited, certified and serially numbered edition.
