Collectible Qur’ans
The Hasan Rızâ Qur’an
Commissioned in a large format by Sultan Mehmed V Reşad, after his accession to the Ottoman throne, to be recited at his tomb, this Qur’an is preserved at the Topkapı Palace Museum Library.
It is a facsimile — in the original dimensions and bound in genuine leather — of the manuscript written by the calligrapher Hasan Rızâ Efendi (1849–1920), known for his many works in thuluth, jalī and ta‘līq scripts, and for some of the finest examples of the naskh style so widely used in Ottoman manuscripts.
